  • Passively controlled archival storage
  • Bespoke reading room and offices
  • High-specification finishes and services
A 15,000 sq ft Archive Centre and office facility set within the rural surroundings of the National Trust’s Waddesdon Estate in Buckinghamshire. Designed to provide passively controlled archive storage, the scheme also incorporates dedicated archivist accommodation, a bespoke reading room, contemporary office space, and extensive external remodelling and landscaping.
The project demanded exceptional attention to detail, with high-specification internal finishes including oak joinery with stainless steel trims, stone and wool carpeted flooring, and glazed partitions balancing privacy with openness. Mechanical and electrical systems were seamlessly integrated, alongside comprehensive data and communications infrastructure linking the building to the wider estate.
