The main structure is a mixture of waterproof concrete and steel frame, with external features including knapped flint, facing bricks and charred timber cladding. There are large minimalist windows throughout the building to make the most of the view.
The house was designed to withstand a 1 in 100-year flood and as such, the kitchen, lounge and bedrooms are all situated on the first floor. The ground floor consists of a cinema room, gym, sauna and office.
The landscaping included 3 ponds, a boathouse on the bank of the river and a river inlet to allow the client to moor their barge boat.
