Kingerlee constructed a new (977m2 gross internal floor area) three-storey boarding house and teaching facility. The construction consisted of 2 classrooms and 9 dormitories housing 45 pupils and welfare facilities. The building also incorporated a 3 bedroomed staff house, 1 bedroom staff flat and a bedsit.
The new building is comprised of load-bearing masonry walls with some steel framing for future internal flexibility, pre-cast concrete plank upper floors and a tiled mansard roof.
The site works included the demolition of the old lodge, external services, car park with hard and soft landscaping.
