  • Replacement University boathouse facility
  • Modern boat storage and gym
  • Residential and club accommodation
  • Brick, cedar and bronze finishes
The new University College Boathouse was designed to complement neighbouring boathouses along the Thames towpath, replacing the previous building lost to fire. The facility provides modern boat storage for eights and smaller craft, alongside a maintenance area, gymnasium and changing facilities with direct access to the River Thames. Residential accommodation includes a fully fitted caretaker’s flat and student dormitory rooms, with communal kitchen, lounge, bar and club spaces.
Externally, the building features stack bonded blue brickwork, cedar cladding and louvres, structural glazing and a distinctive bronze roof. Motorised rolling shutter doors secure the boat storage areas, while front and rear terraces offer elevated views across the river and surrounding Oxfordshire countryside.
