16/07/15 - Full Cycle Challenge Report!

Kingerlee's cycle team had a great day at the Broughton Castle Sportive last weekend raising money for our charity of the year Style Acre.
Riding a variety of distances from the family 5 to the gruelling 100 miles. One thing in common, there didn't appear to be much flat road just hills, rolling bits and hills!
All of our competitors enjoyed themselves with some notable performances-
•Derek a relative new comer to cycling and his longest ride at 50miles.
•Mark for hauling round a borrowed retro racer that was soooo heavy and as ever smiling at the end.
•Paul, although just missing his personal target time did the "ride it like you stole it" approach but the wind and hills took their toll, a good result none the less.
•Noah with his daughter on the crossbar seat managed to entertain the crowd with his post ride juggling and balance beam skills .
•David W the FD used his money saving skills to the full by not buying a new tyre and suffering multiple punctures. It looked like he was having a fun time and still fixing the front wheel when most were post ride eating and drinking to recover.
•Nick the hard man of the group not only successfully completed the 100 but survived the monsoon like conditions at the end of his ride. He now suffers with a soggy bottom!
•Now last but not least - David C. Far too many notable performances but here are a an Old runner he converted his skills to two wheels with a very creditable time (and smiling ear to ear) some thought he was going to collapse!! His warm down routine was an "ants in your pants", siting, laying down and stretching... For hours...!! Most post ride beer, most wow stories, most...most....
Well done to everyone, it was a great day, for a great cause.
