The Flint House in the Common Leys area of the Waddesdon Estate is a striking two-storey wedge-shaped home and the second recent project negotiated for the estate.
Built with a reinforced concrete frame, it is clad in natural flint bands that lighten progressively from dark to chalk white, mirrored by the stepped terrazzo-tiled roof. Thin-framed windows and doors complete the minimalist exterior.
Inside, the theme continues with onyx, serpentine, marble, timber flooring, and exposed, sometimes coloured, concrete. Custom oak joinery adds warmth.
The scheme incorporates a water feature that winds its way through the house, appearing as a natural extension to an existing adjacent pond.
