The new 3-storey teaching block at d’Overbroecks College was delivered under a two-stage design and build contract.

Situated on a challenging site with numerous Tree Preservation Orders and restricted access, the bespoke building was constructed using a piled foundation system and a structural steel/composite frame, enabling adherence to a fast-track programme.

The design was carefully developed to respond to the client’s focus on practical and flexible teaching spaces. The building accommodates laboratories, offices, and general teaching rooms, alongside a new two-storey hall featuring kitchens, offices, open-plan areas, and retractable auditorium seating.

The front elevation presents a modern and visually striking appearance, combining glazing, composite cladding, pre-cast concrete, and high-quality brickwork, reflecting the college’s forward-looking identity.
